G100 Country Chair Mediation, Communication & Advocacy wing Elena holds a PhD in Political Theory and International Relations, a master degree in Peacekeeping and Security studies, another master degree in Procurement Management and a full degree in International Business Management. After a brief experience in the private sector, five years in Local Government, at the Provincial Administration of Rimini, in 2021 she started working at the Ministry of Defence, where she carried out numerous and diversified assignments in both national and international bodies, mainly in the negotiation field, while pursuing her interest in the matter, both at academic and practitioner level, in particular in relation to UN Resolution 1325 on “Women, Peace and Security” and “Cross Cultural Competences”. She worked at the State Secretary for European Affairs’ Cabinet in 2014-2015, during the Italian Presidency of the European Union, and again in 2018-2019. Since 2021 she has joined the ranks of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, where she currently follows the international engagements of the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, after serving 5 years at the Department of European Policies, dealing, among others major dossiers, with activities for defence and protection of strategic interests. She is also an reserve officer of the Italian Navy, with the rank of Commander
